What's in Your Sweats?
You may see a hoodie, but we see these chemicals:

Toxic Dyes & Bleaches
Used in many synthetic dye processes and can release carcinogenic amines when broken down in the body. Most commonly found in dark and vibrantly colored clothing.
Phthalates
Commonly found in plastisol screen-printed logos and labels. Linked to hormonal disruption and infertility.
Pesticides
Used in non-organic cotton production. Exposure to residues has been linked to endocrine disruption and cancer risk. Often found in non-organic cotton basics and underwear.
Perfluorochemicals (PFAs)
Added for water or stain resistance. Linked to cancer and immune system disruption. Most often found in activewear, outerwear, and water-repellent gear.
Formaldehyde
Formaldehyde is used in clothing to prevent wrinkles and mildew. However, it can cause skin irritation, allergic reactions, and respiratory issues upon exposure. Prolonged contact may increase the risk of certain cancers
Microplastics
Shed from synthetic fibers like polyester and nylon during wash and wear. They accumulate in vital organs and have been found in most synthetic clothing.
How does this impact you?

Infertility
Phthalates, commonly used in synthetic dyes and plastisol prints, have been shown to reduce sperm count, have been shown to disrupt hormone production, and affect reproductive health in both men and women.

Hormonal Imbalances
Endocrine disruptors like BPA and azo dyes can mimic estrogen in the body, disrupting natural hormone cycles and contributing to mood swings, irregular periods, and even early puberty.and are frequently used in textile manufacturing.

Thyroid Disruption
PFAS (forever chemicals), used in stain- and water-resistant finishes, have been shown to interfere with thyroid hormone regulation, leading to fatigue, weight changes, and metabolic issues. Most loungewear brands contain toxic dyes that may harm your health.
